Could you put patio furniture in a sunroom?
I'm renting an apartment and it has a sunroom instead of a balcony. I'm moving from a 3100 sq ft. house. And the apt is 1800 sq ft. It has all the necessary space to put my furniture except my patio set. Could I put it into a sunroom?

Yes , I have done this before and it looked great.

Insanity with landlord . . . what are the laws?
boy.. not even sure where to begin with this one. My ex (separated) husband rented a house for myself and my daughter. He signed a lease before we actually saw the place because we were away for the summer. I personally don't think *anyone* should be living in this house, much less paying 2300.00 a month for it. It is set up to be a 2 bedroom house with a sunroom. There was another bedroom that was converted into a studio. The landlord's ex girlfriend was living in it until December when she committed suicide. It took 3 months for him to remove her car from the driveway and her stuff still remains in the room. I was told when I moved in things would be cleaned up so that I would have more storage available to me. I moved in last September and just two days ago, the landlord boarded up a portion of the garage (where my refrigerator is) containing his belongings (crammed floor to ceiling). There is no room for a refigerator in the kitchen and so he put one in the garage and has some sketchy wiring hanging in there for a light. He also put my now dead housemate's gas (and operating) stove in there and she was using it. Originally he expected me to share the refrigerator in the garage with her except that I said 'no way'. He then bought her a refrigerator and put it outside our back door. He also put a bathtub into the ground in the backyard for her to use and piped hot water through a hose to fill it up. OUr washer and dryer was shared and is also outside. (not only inconvenient but also seems dangerous) There is a huge mold problem. There is a major plumbing problem, which he had the gall to ask me to pay for. Incidentally, when I moved in, I painted the place... It was filthy. I had to pay for that too. The bathtub shower fixture is nasty and the bath sink leaks. So the mold continues to be a problem. The sunroof in the sunroom has a tarp over it to prevent leaks over my furniture and I found out from my neighbors that the woodburning stoves he installed actually caught fire before I moved in. I have stopped using them. Sometimes there are strange smells in the house (apart from the mold) and I worry about gas leaks and other chemicals. Sometimes I smell gas and other times an unknown chemical smell. I am concerned that my landlord, is to say the least, negligent. What can I do? i forgot to add that the refrigerator door has a latch on it that i didnt realize was there (because it is in a dark garage) until I complained about my electric bill being 300.00 and tried to discern why it was so expensive. The central heating unit fan switch apparently doesn't go off and the refrigerator is flaky too. I think he bought it used or something. I've lost food in the freezer and have noticed that the door doesn't close all of the way. (that is when he told me about the latch. I would move, except that I didn't sign the lease...my daughter's father did. I live in California, by the way

call your local government housing inspectors, a good starting point if you can't find a contact number would be your local fire department
